Collected by hand in the Arctic
The actic has unexpected plant resources in its beautiful nature. Herbs and berries with a rich variety of tastes, which are only known to few. Moreover, the herbs and berries are closely connected to the thousand-year-old story about Vikings, monks and Norsemen cleverly using them for their survival in the coldest places on earth. With the increased interest in and appreciation of the Nordic and not least the Greenlandic cuisine, the Norsemen’s herbs and their history have been re-introduced.
Together with sheep farmers and enthusiastic people in South Greenland and Iceland the Kvann Kompagni aims at popularize the knowledge and usage of these unique herbs, which due to inclement growing conditions have aromatic tastes, which are not found in herbs from milder climates.
